To get insight into this biologically most relevant scenario, future work will address the behavior of longer DNA helices and RNA with sodium counterions, embedded in bulk liquid water. Such work will also help to assess the role of long-range electric interactions and the underlying dynamic potentials beyond the DNA-water interface.
