Such pronunciamentos can be dismissed as merely ridiculous. They are, however, caricatures of opinions entertained by some intelligent and reasonable people, whose views deserve an honest and careful consideration and analysis. Science must cope with new problems that arise and devise new approaches to old problems. Some lines of research become less profitable and less exciting and others more so.

Feng Zhang (base editing) gives a pat on the back to David Liu (RNA editing), and Liu reciprocated, or vice versa. Taken together, they are making face-saving attempts that ignore everything known to serious scientists about biophysically constrained viral latency.

The tool itself could be further developed, adds computational biologist Eugene Koonin of the National Center for Biotechnology Information who also was not involved in the study. “This paper is not the end of the road,” he says. It’s possible that Cas13b could be fused to a variety of editing enzymes that would allow a range of different sequence changes. The possibilities are numerous, Koonin says, and “the best is still to come.”

While some miRNAs from small organisms are highly conserved across the taxa, others are organism specific. The miRNAs are known to play a crucial role during development and in various cellular functions such as cell survival, cell proliferation, and differentiation. The miRNAs associated with fragile X syndrome, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, cancer, malaria, infectious diseases and several other human diseases have been identified from small organisms. These organisms have been used as platforms in deciphering the functions of miRNAs in the pathogenesis of human diseases and to study miRNA biogenesis. Small organisms have also been used in the development of miRNA-based diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic strategies. The molecular techniques such as genome sequencing, northern blot analysis, and quantitative RT-PCR, have been used in deciphering the functions of miRNAs in small organisms. Inheritable epigenetic changes (“epimutations”) with effects at a distance would then perdure over the number of generations required for “assimilation” of the several regulatory novelties through the occurrence and selection, gene by gene, of specific classical mutations. These mutations would have effects similar to the epigenetic effects, yet would provide stability and penetrance. The described epigenetic/genetic partnership may well at times have opened the way toward certain complex new functions. Thus, the presence of “junk DNA”, through co-determining the (higher or lower) order and the variants of chromatin structure with regulatory effects at a distance, might make an important contribution to the evolution of complex organisms.

Simulations show that there should be more small galaxies in the Universe, but UV radiation essentially stopped them from developing by depriving them of the gas they need to form stars.

I saw no mention of the missing galaxies until 3/21/17. I only knew that the anti-entropic virucidal energy of ultraviolet light biophysically constrains all life on Earth via nutrient energy-dependent endogenous RNA interference and the physiology of pheromone-controlled reproduction.
Now that information on the missing galaxies has been presented in the context of observations, those observations can be correlated with evidence from observations of individual bones, which exist only in the context of the observable fossil record evidence.
Observers tell us those bones come from species that became extinct millions to billions of years ago.  Dobzhansky (1964) told us about those observers.

“The notion has gained some currency that the only worthwhile biology is molecular biology. Indeed, it would be hard to miss the fact that current lines of research are expected to be much more profitable that the observations of theorists. For example, RNA-mediated amino acid substitutions in supercoiled DNA link energy-dependent changes in angstroms to ecosystems. Clearly, if organisms within an ecosystem cannot find food, they will not have the energy to reproduce.
The pheromone-controlled physiology of reproduction will no longer prevent the transgenerational epigenetic inheritance of virus-driven energy theft, and all individuals of the species may eventually become extinct. Observable evidence that some individuals died led observers to claim that many species became extinct during millions of years of evolution. No experimental evidence of biologically-based cause and effect supports those claims. Instead, facts about how quickly virus-driven energy theft continues to degrade their messenger RNA suggests that the fossil record of bones exemplifies how quickly ossification occurs in the absence of sunlight.

Even in organisms that have no brain, cell type differentiation occurs in the context of biophysically constrained RNA-mediated protein folding chemistry. All chemistry is energy-dependent quantum chemistry and chemistry links quantum physics from the de novo creation of G protein-coupled receptors to the biological basis for all biodiversity on Earth.
For example, food odors link natural selection for energy-dependent codon optimality to the metabolism of food to pheromones. Then, I tried to discuss what I know about the energy-dependent links from angstroms to ecosystems in all living genera with the senior author of Complex Spike Patterns in Olfactory Bulb Neuronal Networks by Alister U Nicol, Anne Segonds-Pinchon, and Magnus S. My summary: They link everything known to serious scientists about energy as information to non-randomly recurring patterns of biophysically constrained RNA-mediated protein folding chemistry and “…characterize these patterns in light of their putative role in processing sensory information.”
They ignore the fact that sunlight is the anti-entropic virucidal source of the energy that prevents genomic entropy via the pheromone-controlled physiology of reproduction in all living genera.
Apparently, like other biologically uninformed theorists, they did not realize what Dobzhansky (1973) did when he linked the light of evolution to all biophysically constrained biodiversity via the nutrient energy-dependent pheromone-controlled physiology of reproduction.
Dobzhansky was one of the first self-declared Creationists to level the playing field with his joke about evolution as if it occurred over billions of years.

I am a creationist and an evolutionist. Evolution is God’s, or Nature’s, method of Creation. Creation is not an event that happened in 4004 B.C.; it is a process that began some 10 billion years ago and is still under way.

Anyone who followed Dobzhansky’s works probably got the joke. He knew there was experimental evidence of God’s Creation. For example, he linked sensory input from what organisms eat and their physiology of reproduction to amino acid substitutions that differentiate all cell types in all living genera. He also knew that theorists had not found experimental evidence of biologically-based cause and effect that supported their claims about millions to billions of years of evolution.
All serious scientists were made aware of Dobzhansky’s rabbinical form of debate in 1964. He began by referring to theorists as bird-watchers and butterfly collectors.  A rather well known form of rabbinical begins with: “Thou fool….”
Dobzhansky was far less damning when he started his address with this:

The notion has gained some currency that the only worthwhile biology is molecular biology. All else is “bird watching” or “butterfly collecting.” Bird watching and butterfly collecting are occupations manifestly unworthy of serious scientists! I have heard a man whose official title happens to be Professor of Zoology declare to an assembly of his colleagues that “a good man cannot teach zoology. A good man can teach, of course, only molecular biology.

Dobzhansky probably was referring to himself in the third person when he made the claim about the unidentified Professor of Zoology. Still, to avoid ridicule by biologically uninformed theorists, he tempered the claim.

Such pronunciamentos can be dismissed as merely ridiculous. They are, however, caricatures of opinions entertained by some intelligent and reasonable people, whose views deserve an honest and careful consideration and analysis. Science must cope with new problems that arise and devise new approaches to old problems. Some lines of research become less profitable and less exciting and others more so.

Clearly, Dobzhansky knew that his claims about amino acid substitutions would be accepted by serious scientists and rejected by pseudoscientists, who have continued to reject the claims of all serious scientists. That’s what pseudoscientists have always done.

Via the comparison of two simple quantum mechanical photocell systems, they found that “…by simply incorporating two photon-absorbing channels, rather than only one, the regulation of energy flow emerges naturally within the photocell.”

They linked the natural emergence of the energy flow in their design to the natural energy of photosynthesis in plants in an attempt to explain how green became the predominant color of plants on Earth. Others found molecular structures that prevent death via the accumulation of excess energy in plants.

The design of the molecular structure of their quantum heat engine photocell is similar to “…the structure of photosynthetic molecules that incorporate pairs of chlorophyll.” But wait. They claimed that the plants evolved molecular mechanisms after the natural emergence of energy flow was linked to photosynthesis and molecular structures that prevent death caused by the accumulation of excess energy.When I see such a convoluted representation of energy-dependent biologically-based cause and effect that does not include any mention of virus-driven energy theft or the physiology of reproduction, I am inclined to call researchers like this “biologically uninformed science idiots.”Many people hate it when I do that. What would you call them? But some of them are plagiarists, too.

The ability to take everything known to serious scientists and put it back into the context of unintelligible theories via use of terms like tertiary structural motifs far surpasses the ability of serious scientists to make sense of their pseudoscientific nonsense. Thus, the pseudoscientific nonsense will continue to kill us all.

The use of de novo transcriptome assembly and well-designed in silico protocols proved to be a robust approach for surveying and mining large sequence data in a wide range of non-model mollusks. The data presented herein constitute only a small fraction of the information retrieved from the analysed molluscan transcriptomes, which can be promptly employed in the identification of novel genes and gene families, phylogenetic inferences, and other studies using molecular tools. As such, our study provides an important framework for understanding some of the underlying molecular mechanisms involved in molluscan body plan diversification and hints towards functions of key developmental genes in molluscan morphogenesis.

No serious scientist I know examines morphogenesis outside the context of feedback loops that link odor and pheromones to the physiology of reproduction in species from microbes to humans via the de novo creation of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). How many pseudoscientists do you know who skip past the de novo creation of GPCRs and proceed to link mutations from natural selection to evolution outside the context of everything known to serious scientists about biologically-based cause and effect (i.e., energy-dependent biodiversity)?The lack of discussion and/or support from other creationists for my presentations of accurate information like this may suggest to others that this is a “false flag” group. If you tried to evaluate the content presented here, would you get the impression that this is a group in which the admins are Creationists? When did you realize the de novo creation of genes for olfactory receptors must precede the de novo creation of photoreceptors to link chemotaxis and phototaxis to energy-dependent cell type differentiation, which is our only protection from the viral apocalypse?

Abstract:

Manfred Eigen extended Erwin Schroedinger’s concept of “life is physics and chemistry” through the introduction of information theory and cybernetic systems theory into “life is physics and chemistry and information.” Based on this assumption, Eigen developed the concepts of quasispecies and hypercycles, which have been dominant in molecular biology and virology ever since. He insisted that the genetic code is not just used metaphorically: it represents a real natural language. However, the basics of scientific knowledge changed dramatically within the second half of the 20th century. Unfortunately, Eigen ignored the results of the philosophy of science discourse on essential features of natural languages and codes: a natural language or code emerges from populations of living agents that communicate. This contribution will look at some of the highlights of this historical development and the results relevant for biological theories about life.

The claims about quasispecies and hypercyclesthat dominate molecular biology and virology should have long ago long before now have been placed into the context of all reviews of neo-Darwinian pseudoscientific nonsense.
